Step 1: Prepare Source Virtual Machine

Shut down the Hyper-V virtual machine

Export the VM using Hyper-V Manager:

Right-click the VM → Select Export

Choose destination folder for export

Step 2: Locate Exported Files

After export completes, the target folder will contain:

Virtual machine configuration files
-
Virtual hard disk (VHD/VHDX format)

Step 3: Convert Disk Format

Use StarWind V2V Converter to convert:

Source format: VHD/VHDX (Hyper-V)

Target format: VMDK (VMware)

Use VMware Workstation Pro to create new VM and attach the converted VMDK disk and export to OVF format (see the article).
